RSPB Conservation Volunteering

Saturday, November 29, 2014 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
This event does not repeat

The Inner Forth is a fantastic area for wildlife and we are looking for a group of enthusiastic volunteers to help us manage some wonderful sites. We have a wide range of tasks to carry out so we need your help to keep this area special for wildlife.

What’s in it for you?

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get more involved with conservation in the Inner Forth Area. You will get the chance to work on some very special sites learning a huge range of new practical and identification skills, gaining invaluable experience for anyone who wants to pursue a career in conservation and we will also be offering our volunteers the opportunity for more formal training resulting in valuable qualifications (e.g. brushcutter tickets, first aid qualificitation, etc). There will be opportunities to help at public engagement events too.
In addition to all of this you will of course get the chance to work with some fantastic people and maybe meet some new friends, all the while knowing you are contributing to nature conservation and really making a difference to your local area.

The skills you need

You don't need any previous experience or any specific skills (although an aptitude for practical work would be useful) but you do need to be enthusiastic about conservation and nature. You will be carrying out practical work in all weather conditions so will need to be prepared for that, a reasonable level of fitness and an up to date tetanus would also be good.

Your time

Minimum commitment: 2 days per month (days TBC)
Duration: Ongoing
Period: All year round

Your time and skills could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB and it would be great if you could join us.
This project is funded by the Inner Forth Landscape Initiative.

Your time

Minimum commitment: 2 days per month (days listed on the IFLI events calendar)
Duration: Ongoing
Period: All year round
