Clackmannan & Alloa Park Access Improvements

#Clackmannanshire#Exploring The Forth#Improving Access

The Clackmannan and Alloa Park area is rich in cultural and natural interest, including the historic Alloa and Clackmannan Towers. This project aimed to improve people's access to the area's heritage by making the surfaces of the paths better, building new sections of path, putting up new fencing, installing more user-friendly gates and signs and waymarkers to help people get around. In all nearly 1.5km of new 2m-wide paths was created, which will make access easier for less able people and families with young children and buggies.

Tender documents for works were issued by CSGNT to potential contractors during November 2017. Subject to bad weather and unforseen circumstances works began on the ground in early 2018 and took around 6 weeks to complete. These works were funded by HLF and Sustrans.
