Kinneil Estate Woodland Wanders

#Exploring The Forth#Falkirk#Improving Access

The paths through the woodland around the Kinneil Estate are an important greenspace resource for people in the Bo'ness area and beyond. Woodland restructuring and restocking in some areas of the estate took place in 2014-15 as part of stage one of the Long Term Forest Plan for this site. This interlinked project has upgraded 2km of paths, and reinstated some of those paths that formed part of the original designed landscape of the Estate. This will help visitors reconnect with the historical significance of the landscape. Work also included managing the vegetation, restoring some of the stone walls (with our recently-completed Drystone Dyke Traineeship project) and resurfacing paths to make them more accessible.
