Inner Forth Festivals

Every September between 2014 and 2018, IFLI organised the Inner Forth Festival, a month of free events hosted by ourselves and our partners which aimed to enjoy and celebrate the natural, cultural and built heritage the Inner Forth landscape offers.

Whatever your age, interests or where you live, we tried to make sure there was something for everyone each September. All the events were free to attend, thanks to the way we were funded by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Events included wildlife ID sessions for all ages, heritage tours of some of the Inner Forth's historic locations, family bushcraft and bonfire evenings, trips on the Maid of the Forth with afternoon tea, drama performances and sketching workshops, photography and printmaking sessions, archaelogical excavations, and more! We also included events in the area which were being run by some of our partner organisations. We are very grateful to the huge range of organisations and volunteers that made the Festivasl possible by organising, running and supporting the events. We really couldn't have done it without them!

Below are a few images from a selection of the events that we ran - a full list, with more details of each event between 2014 and 2018 can be found on our events calendar. We hope that your enjoyed joining us each September to celebrate the unique history, wildlife and people of this great part of the world!
