Mix & Match Training for Young People: Climate Ranger Training

Objective 1
Status
In Progress
Specifically tailored for Young People in the Inner Forth, but with a relevance beyond the project area too, this online training will benefit young jobseekers and upskill them in a range of 'green skills' and experiences. Those taking part in our Climate Ranger Training can expect to gain an awareness of the range of work and jobs involved in climate adaptation and mitigation activities.

Climate FORTH, in conjunction with Icecream Architecture, has developed an online training portal to upskill young people aged 14-25 in the Inner Forth area. The FREE 'Climate Ranger Training' will better equip young people for future careers, as well as helping them to face climate impacts in their local area within the Inner Forth, and beyond.

The platform is comprised of ten modules, known as ‘journeys,’ which cover everything from defining terms, such as ‘green recovery’ and ‘just transition,’ to shining a light on local tourism. It will help young people considering green careers to understand what climate resilience is - and why it matters.

As well as being full of useful tips, contacts and routes to the industry, the training signposts them to local opportunities to develop their skills - and offers reasons for hope and action in the face of climate change.

Young people can easily access the content on their mobile phones and take their learning at a flexible pace to fit around other commitments. Upon completion of the ten journeys, they will receive a certificate and guidance on how to define the learning on their CV and future job applications.

The online ‘Climate Ranger Training’ is part of a wider activity that will also include in-person taster sessions taking place in 2026. These will help young jobseekers gain green skills and experiences and more details will be released in the new year.

So if you're a young person aged 14+, don't delay! Start your 'Climate Ranger Training' journey today!

This Climate FORTH activity is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery Players.
