Would you like to be a Climate FORTH Young Leader?

Are you aged 18-25 and living, working or studying in Bainsford and Langlees, Fallin, Hawkhill or Kincardine? Do you have opinions about what is important to your area? Do you want to ensure other young voices are heard in planning for your community's future?

Climate FORTH volunteer Young Leaders will help represent the views, wishes and imagination of young people in our project activities. Young Leaders will help do this by running sessions with younger people and children, attending local workshops, and documenting their experience on Climate FORTH's social media channels. As a Young Leader, you will have the opportunity to take the lead on a grant for your community, ensuring the projects local young people are most passionate about come to life.

This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to support the Inner Forth area to become a more climate-ready and resilient place. It’s the chance to have your say in important conversations about your community's heritage and its future.

What’s in it for you?

  • Having positive impact in your local community
  • Work experience in youth work, community planning, workshop facilitation and more
  • Skills development
  • Growing your confidence and leadership skills
  • Optional certified skills training (e.g. First Aid)
  • Priority booking for Climate FORTH's Youth Training activities
  • Networking and introductions to key people and organisations working for a greener, fairer future
  • Expenses paid
No experience is required, just enthusiasm. Please note that successful applications will be subject to a PVG check to keep you and those we work with safe. Preference will be given to applicants who live in the communities of Fallin, Kincardine, Hawkhill and Bainsford and Langlees, but applications are welcomed from those who work and study in these areas too.

We are asking for a minimum commitment of 4 hours per month for 6 months, with options for further volunteering and work experience afterwards.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Climate FORTH's Youth and Community Engagement Officer, Alice MacPherson (alice.macpherson@rspb.org.uk).
