Climate FORTH Brief to Tender: Scoping study to design a groundworks contractor skills training programme

As part of the Inner Forth Futures' Climate FORTH (Furthering Our Resilience Through Heritage) project, RSPB Scotland, on behalf of Inner Forth Futures, wishes to commission a consultant or agency to support development of practical skills development activity aimed at groundworks operatives (contractors / public sector etc). The successful contractor will undertake a 'Scoping & Design Study for Contractor Skill Training to benefit land management for climate adaptation’, for the Climate FORTH project between May and August 2022. Interested parties can download the TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY OF CLIMATE FORTH DEVELOPMENT PHASE WORKS: SCOPING & DESIGN STUDY FOR CONTRACTOR SKILL TRAINING TO BENEFIT LAND MANAGEMENT FOR CLIMATE ADAPTATION.

Questions related to the invitation to tender should be directed to Kate Fuller, Climate FORTH Project Manager.

Any tender responses should be emailed to Kate Fuller kate.fuller@rspb.org.uk by the closing date. The closing date for tender submissions is noon 5 May 2022. Kate Fuller can assist with any enquiries or queries.

This training activity will sit within the Climate FORTH project as part of a wider suite of activities that aims to support the resilience of our heritage assets to climate and other change. The training is aimed at groundwork operatives (contractors & public sector) who are located within the Inner Forth area. Through practical training, there will be an increased number of groundworks operatives who are skilled, confident and experienced in undertaking habitat management with the end aim of climate adaptation or mitigation, and operatives in multiple sectors will have increased their adaptability and resilience through pivoting their skill-set, so will be better positioned to tender for work (specifically habitat enhancement). The successful candidate should demonstrate previous experience in similar work. The Training Programme will be submitted as part of a Stage 2 bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, grants for heritage.

This work is possible thanks to National Lottery players, the Climate FORTH development phase is funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund.
