The View from Clackmannan Tower

#Clackmannanshire#Conserving Restoring#Historic Features
This Historic Environment Scotland led project was designed to provide increased supervised public access to Clackmannan Tower, a nationally important 14th-century keep built by Sir Robert Bruce.

Work took place to install a new balustrade, which has allowed for safer access to the upper parapet and the spectacular views of the Ochils and Forth Valley it affords. The lighting in the tower has also been ungraded, and new railings installed at key locations internally. This has allowed increased access to the public on the guided tours, which take place at various times throughout the year. Further project details are available within the End of Project report which you can find in the 'downloads' section of this page.

You can get more information on the tours and the tower here or via the Historic Environment Scotland website.
